AD 22XX, in the time of planet-colonising, humans were actively Terraforming worlds other than Earth to make them habitable. In the course of doing so, humanity encountered Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (ETI) and hostilities commenced, with United Galaxy Space Force (UGSF) taking them on head-on.
Not long after that, corporations with designs on the expanding space frontier and unknown technologies possessed by the ETI joined in the fray, escalating the conflict.
“Dirty work” that the regular forces could not bear to do like initial patrol of a planet to be explored, engaging in battles at the very front of the war, and the cleaning up work after battles is left to paid mercenaries. Their members consisted of problematic soldiers who were court-martialed, prisoners looking for chances to lighten their sentences, people who were hiding from and running away from the mafia and others, all of them with strong reasons to be there.
The prideful UGSF gave these mercenaries a derogatory term “Bounty Hounds” (dogs with only bounties in mind).

God Eater takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where monsters, Aragami, destroyed everything. You are the user of the God Eater, the only weapon with enough destructive powers to take on these massive creatures.
High speed hunting ensues as soon as you spot one of these beasts. Call your friends to aid you during your quests by turning on the adhoc networking mode or take them on one on one.
You can change the shape of your weapon depending on your distance and the type of Aragami you are fighting. By absorbing the cells of the monsters, you can unleash the full power of the God Eater for a limited time. Look for the chance in battle to turn the tables around

Hina seemed to be able to change the weather according to her mood, whenever she is sad, it would rain and whenever she is cheerful, the sun will shine again. If weather control is not cool enough, she seemed to have a guardian angel. She could not remember how she gained these powers exactly, but she remembered that these strange things started the day before she has to leave Shouwa Town.
She was six at that time and was very unwilling to leave the town and her friends behind. Yet a strange child, a friend, perhaps, smiled as she cried and bit their fingers. He pushed the bitten digits together and tells her that everything is fine, that they would never be apart.
Ten years later, at 16, Hina moves back to the town in an attempt to find the child and the reason behind her powers.
