Global warming, now there are two buzz words guaranteed to start a debate any time they are mentioned around the old water cooler! Ask any group of people what they think of it, and you will get everything from: ‘Its the end of the world!’ to: ‘Its a left wing hoax designed to destroy our economy!’ So, let us look at just what the facts are.
Global warming was first observed (as hard as this may be to believe!) way back in 1896. In that year, a Swedish chemist named Svante Arrhenius was the first person to quantify just how much the world is warmed by carbon dioxide. In his report, he warned that the world was ‘evaporating our coal mines into the air.’ He was largely ignored.
Then, in 1979, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences issued a report that rising carbon dioxide levels could cause temperatures to rises, and warned that a ‘wait and see attitude’ could be dangerous. Unfortunately, the naysayers in all this are a very powerful group: oil, coal, gas, automotive and steel. All industries that create vast amounts of the greenhouse gases, and all with very deep pockets. Since the late 1980s, they have funded a whole host of lobbying groups like the Global Climate Coalition, and the Information Council on the Environment, specifically to downplay the danger or deny it outright.
On top of that, there is the problem that this issue is not something one nation can address alone. Recently, in the State of California, Governor Schwarzenegger signed an execu
tive order with the goal of reducing car emissions ten percent by 2020. While quite the laudable effort, it will accomplish nothing! China and India are poised to become highly industrialized counties, meaning: more cars, more power plants, more greenhouse gases being vented into the atmosphere. And thats just two nations. What of the rest of the world? It was because of the global nature of the problem that the Rio Treaty on voluntary emission reductions was signed in 1992, and later the Kyoto Treaty was negotiated. However, while President George H.W. Bush signed the Rio Treaty, its mandates were never enacted; and, under pressure from lobbying groups, President George Bush did not sign the Kyoto treaty.
In recent years weve seen the effects of Global Warming: killer heat waves in America and Europe, wilted crops, smaller snow packs and receding glaciers, and bigger and stronger hurricanes. So, we must ask ourselves: who are we to believe? There are thousands of scientists around the world, from all manner of political and social backgrounds who agree that global warming is happening. And then there are the naysayers, all of whom are backed by industries that have a vested interest in preventing any actions that would endanger their profits. Which ones are impartial, do you think?

It goes without saying that there is often an inherent conflict between science and economies. Emission trading is an interesting effort in the global warming arena.
Understanding Emissions Trading and Global Warming
It is a mild understatement to say that global warming is both a controversial and misunderstood field. As the decay of the ice packs and slowing of the ocean conveyer become more apparent, the controversy is starting to evolve into an acceptance of global warming as a fact. Given this great acceptance, the question is now what to do about it.
Every society is based upon some form of economy. Although globalization is the much touted economic subject of the day, the industrial revolution is still really the heart of most economies. Economies, particularly first world economies, are based on the production of goods and materials through manufacturing. These same processes contribute heavily to greenhouse gases and the global warming debate. With such an inherent conflict between production and reduction of pollutants, find a solution to greenhouse gases has often been a dubious prospect. The concept of emissions trading, however, may be a solution.
Emission caps are a method for dealing with economies on a nationwide scale. Essentially, countries agree to cap their total output of pollutants and greenhouse gases at a certain level. Each government then converts this total amount into individual caps for industries or business. The caps essentially tell the businesses the amount they are allowed to emit and assign penalties and incentives for coming in below or above said amounts. In practical terms, a business is penalized for polluting or given a benefit for cutting pollutants.
The interesting thing about emissions caps is that they can be traded. Ostensibly, a country or business that falls under the cap amounts can trade their excess emissions allotment for money. In turn, other parties that fail to meet their caps must buy these allotments. By taking this approach, reduction of pollutants become not only a moral choice, but a potential profit center. For example, Brazil has done an amazing job of converting automobiles to ethanol. It has now evolved from an oil importer to an exporter and is selling emission credits on the open market.
Emission trading systems do not represent a new approach to dealing with the pollution problem. On smaller scales, such approaches have been used within the United States as part of the Clean Air Act to force municipalities and states to act. With the implementation of the Kyoto Treaty, this process will become full blown on the international scene. Alas, India, China and the United States are not signatories to the Treaty, which is unfortunate given their economic growth and production of greenhouse gases and pollutants.

With the release of his documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, former vice president Al Gore is the foremost spokesman for the issue of Global Warming. He truly symbolizes it for most Americans. As a believer in symbolic magic, I hold that the influences that affect the man, will affect his issues as well. So with that in mind, what does Numerology hold in store for Al Gore in the coming years?
As a Numerologist, if I want to see what’s in a person’s future I look at (3) main calculations: their Life Cycles, their Letters of Transit and their Personal Year. These values give me a suggestion of what could be in a person’s future; a general idea as it were.
His Life Cycle
Al Gore entered his second Life Cycle in 1982, and will enter his third and final life cycle in early 2009. Both of these cycles call for a good deal of hard work from him; lots of detail work on mundane down to earth matters. Gore must guard against getting depressed in these cycles.
This sounds like a dedicated public servant who will continue to work and battle for what he believes in. It may not speak well about a quick and easy solution to Global Warming, but it does show that there is little chance of Gore giving up and putting aside his work.
In March 2009, Al Gore enters his third Life Cycle, and unlike in his second Cycle, he has a specific life challenge: he must overcome a reluctance and fear of taking the leader’s role; of acting independently.
Since this will be after the next presidential election, could it indicate a role for Al Gore in the next administration? Or, might it call for him to speak out even more strongly against a government which will act against his beliefs?
His Transit Letters
Transit letters are calculated from a person's full birth name and are the most detailed predictor of events unique to an individual. Al Gore, being born a Jr., has the unique trait of almost always having a transit letter ‘R’ acting on him. In fact, since he has an ‘R’ in each of his names, he almost always is under the influence of a ‘RR’ transit letter.
His current Transit letters are ‘RRGR’. They began on his birthday in 2005, and end on his birthday in March 2008.
His transit letters of ‘RRR’ which I treat as double ‘R’ mark a time of ending relationships and frustrating delays in his life. In fact the double ‘R’ will continue for Gore for some years to come. I would say this is a clear indication that Al Gore’s call for action on fixing Global Warming will see many delays through the next few years. I look for very little to be accomplished on this front.
His transit letter of ‘G’ marks a time when he will be secretive about his affairs, but it will also be a good period for Gore financially. I would venture to say that the cause of Global Warming will raise a great deal of money in the next (2) years. People will respond with dollars, even if the path to change will be slow.
Finally, in March 2008, Gore will gain a Transit letter ‘J’ for the last year of his old Life Cycle. The ‘J’ marks some major change in his life. He will experience indecision and his finances will take a major upswing in 2008. Could this represent a call to action by the Democratic Party either as a candidate, or behind the scenes is some fashion?
His Personal Year
2006 is a personal year (6) for Al Gore. This is a year when his home life and various task make unusually large demands on his time. Gore will assume new task more easily than he usually does. Duties and obligations will be handled successfully. Also, his creative endeavors, such as his book / documentary are favored at this time.
This speaks well for the success of “An Inconvenient Truth.” It appears that that movie will get the public to respond and bring real attention to the problem of Global Warming.
In summation, I would predict success for Al Gore’s message about Global Warming reaching America as a whole, but a long and frustrating battle to get our Nation to change it’s spots and act to combat the problem. Also, I would predict that Gore will have some strong role in the 2008 presidential election, if not as a candidate, as a surrogate for the Democratic party. He has some definite task that he will be called on to take up in March 2009, though what it is I could not guess.

Today I read an article in the paper. The headline read"Doomsday Clock Ticks Closer to Midnight". Apparently a prominent group of scientists in 1945 set up this clock to illustrate impending nuclear annihilation. At that time their main concern was nuclear war and midnight symbolized a widespread nuclear conflict. They moved it to 11:55 today. Their concerns have shifted however, more onto Global warming. The dangers posed by climate change are nearly as dire as those posed by nuclear weapons they say. I couldn't help but ponder how the world seems to know something ominous is on the horizon but they don't know exactly what.
As a believer in Jesus I guess I have an added advantage to know exactly what is coming down the pipe for planet earth. As a matter of fact everything that is currently happening out there in planet earth has been forewarned about 2 thousand years ago without squinting to hard at the bible. In Matthew chapter 24 and Luke 21 the disciples asked Jesus "what the sign of his coming would be and of the end of the age". Notice I didn't say the end of the world. The world mistakenly believes that Armageddon is the end of the world but scripture clearly bears out that it is a time of great tribulation but also a new beginning after that. Jesus gave them a list of things to watch for that would be the tell tale signs. I will attempt to touch on a 3 obvious ones here for those that may be scoffing at bible prophecy. For all the atheists out there that have the guts to read this.
So what are we seeing lately that everyone can clearly see that the Bible is totally accurate and right on pace with.
#1 Well first off Jesus in Matthew said we would hear of wars and rumors of wars. Also that "nation would rise against nation". If you look up the word nation in the Greek you get the word ethnos. In other words ethnic diversity against ethnic diversity. Gadzooks! Countless examples of wars and ethnic groups fighting each other all over the world at this moment. All you have to do is watch the news on Iraq or Iran or some of the wars going on in Africa. The Yugoslavia thing awhile back also comes to mind. I'm sure you can fill in the blanks here depending on which war you have been following.
#2 He also said there would be "famines and earthquakes in various places". I don't think you have to look to hard for truth in this one as scientists clearly telling us that more and more earthquakes are happening with increasing intensity in the last few years. We all are acutely aware of famines. Organizations like world vision are constantly on our televisions educating us. Even Bono has stepped up to the plate and tried to get the rich countries to cancel the debt of the poor countries to take a stab at eliminating poverty and hunger.
#3 Lastly Jesus said "there will be signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring". So have you seen any hurricanes lately. How about tsunamis. Katrina ring a bell. I live in B.C. Canada and the west coast has had a string of storms in a row this winter and of a fierceness that has not been seen in years putting thousands out of power.
So what does it all mean you might ask. For the believer it means Jesus is secretly about to rapture them out of the judgments that are about to fall on mankind as a result of his rebellion and sin against God.
For the unbeliever it means troubling times ahead, such as never been seen on the earth before. I suggest watching Israel and the signing of a seven year peace treaty. When this happens the world has exactly that time frame. 7 years until Jesus returns to earth to set up his new kingdom. During this seven year period a series of wars takes place leading up to Armageddon, where so much carnage and killing results the blood runs up as high as the horse's bridle.
Scary stuff if you are still here! Personally I don't think there is anything we can do to fix global warming. But there is still time today to turn from your sin and accept what Jesus did for you on the cross and I'll see you in Heaven.

Gino Green Global, the shirt that taken over the hip world and even the entertainment world, that strange shirt that has a lot of “9’s”, or is it “G’s”? Anyway, Gino Green Global grown so big that it has taken over nations, Gino Green Global grew globally! Actually Gino Green Global didn’t start with the word “Global” before; Gino Green Global was first called Gino Green Apparel and was founded by a Designer named Prince Mayol. His first designs of Gino Green Apparel hit stores across NYC on the year of 1999, Gino Green Global quickly caught the eye’s of people whom want their styles to be artistic and creative, and wanted to start a new age of trends in fashion throughout NYC, is it because of those “9’s” that made it unique? Well, actually, those “9’s” aren’t really “9’s”, but “G’s”, it’s a fashion thing they say. Anyway, it grew so big that many celebrities or entertainers wanted to join in, many of these shirts appeared on tournaments, such as the Dyckman Summer League. Many players, such as basketball, included Gino Green Global shirts on their fashion line. It’s because of these that made Gino Green Apparel to be recognized worldwide, so on the year of 2004, Prince came to an idea to change its name from Gino Green Apparel to Gino Green Global, so it can fit perfectly on its “G” logo.
Gino Green Global globalization made way for new designs, from a mere T-shirt and Hoods, Gino Green Global expanded their collection from polo, jeans and leather jackets, to women shirts that made them feel real and sexy, stylish yet artistic.

Prince Albert of Monaco visited the North Pole in April this year as part of an effort to push the environmental issue up the agenda with other world leaders.
Now he has established a foundation as part of his personal commitment for 'the protection of the environment and sustainable development' - and in the process show that far from his North Pole visit being a publicity stunt it was the beginning of a campaign to highlight the dangers of global warming.
His Albert II foundation aims to be a permanent source of dynamic and innovative actions for environmental protection.
It is just over a year since Prince Albert succeeded his father Prince Rainier to become Monaco's leader, and in that year Prince Albert has changed his image from that of a Playboy Prince to one of a leader concerned for the future of not only Monaco - the second smallest country in the world - but for the world as a whole.
Apart from his visit to the North Pole, Monaco has shown her commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by making the Monaco Yacht show, due to be held in September, to a carbon-neutral event by paying for enough wind turbines in New Zealand to generate power for 45, 000 homes.
In a more recent development Monaco, at Prince Albert's behest, has decided for the first time to calculate her GDP so she can play a more active role at the United Nations, which will include calculating how much to pay to meet the UN's request for 0.7 per cent of developed countries GDP for third world development.
Europe's Favourite Tax Haven
Previously Monaco has best been known as Europe's number one tax haven, and for the Monaco Grand Prix, held each May around the streets of Monte Carlo.
Often referred to as the 'Playground of Europe' any concerns over Monaco changing style are misplaced insist local travel guide yourmonaco.com.
'Monaco will continue to attract the wealthy due to her to income tax policy', comments spokesman Henri Boulanger, 'And as well as the Monaco Grand Prix there is also the annual Yacht Show each September. Prince Albert knows that these events along with being a tax haven are the geese that lay the golden eggs and without them there wouldn't be a lot of point in calculating the GDP to send to the United Nations as it would account for very little. By promoting and encouraging events like the Monaco Grand Prix it allows him to play a serious and active part on the world stage'.
Real estate in Monaco ranks among the highest priced in the world, with one bedroom apartments ranging from nearly a million Euros to two million, and three bedroom apartments often over three million Euros.
Buyers from the UK have increased significantly in the last couple of years, and demand from them has helped push property price inflation to nearly ten per cent a year.
For the future it is expected that prices will continue to rise for the short and medium term, but with interest rates expected to rise in the UK it is not certain whether the supply of British buyers will continue at the same rate as recent years.

Most of the time, the planet we live on seems like a safe and stable place. But as recent events have proven, colossal forces determined by the physics of the earth slowly build up to be suddenly released in catastrophic earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis that spawn yet more
science and environment concerns for many inhabitants.
Vision was in the process of preparing an article on this subject when the Asian tsunami struck on December 26, 2004, with the catastrophic results we all know too well. Before a horrified worldwide TV audience, the Indian Ocean basin reeled following the massive earthquake and resultant tsunami, which together may have obliterated as many as 300, 000 lives. All of us were forcibly reminded that Earth--and all of us along with it--is in fact quite vulnerable.
Bill McGuire, a volcanologist and professor of geophysical hazards at University College, London, expresses it this way: "The Earth is an extraordinarily fragile place that is fraught with danger: a tiny rock hurtling through space, wracked by violent movements of its crust and subject to dramatic climatic changes as its geophysical and orbital circumstances vary" (A Guide to the End of the World, 2002 ).
Each week approximately 10, 000 detectable earthquakes shake our planet. About 2, 000 of them can be felt, and on average, two of them cause damage. In addition, around 20 volcanoes are erupting at any given moment. Those who find themselves in the way of such traumatic events often wonder whether God is punishing them or whether the world is coming to a cataclysmic end.
ALL SHOOK UP
Earthquakes and volcanoes are probably the most spectacular of all natural disasters.
It is a fact that earthquakes and their aftereffects have caused multiple millions of deaths over the course of human history. In terms of loss of life, one of the most catastrophic was the one that struck China in 1556, killing an estimated 830, 000 people. And one of the most devastating in modern times struck Japan on September 1, 1923, registering 7.9 on the Richter scale. The quake, which shook Tokyo, Yokohama and the surrounding area, was followed by a tsunami, numerous landslides, and devastating fires. Within two days at least 140, 000 people had died and the two cities lay largely in ashes.
With regard to volcanoes, nearly everyone is familiar with one of the most famous events in history--the 1883 explosions of Indonesia's Krakatau (or Krakatoa), an island consisting of three volcanic cones between the islands of Java and Sumatra. Volcanic activity began in May and continued through August. Pressure built up inside the cones because gas escaping from the magma had no outlet, and like a steam boiler with its safety valve closed, they exploded with a series of powerful blasts on August 26 and 27. Four great explosions over the course of a few short hours hurled rocks into the air, some of which showered down on nearby ships. Inhabitants of the Indian Ocean island of Rodriguez, 3, 000 miles away, reported hearing the noise. The force was so great that the northern half of the island (including two of the volcanic cones) collapsed and disappeared. This in turn generated tsunamis, with some waves coming ashore at heights of 130 feet. The destruction resulted in tens of thousands of deaths in the region.
In his book Krakatoa, Simon Winchester records that months later huge pieces of pumice thrown out by the eruption, some weighing several tons, drifted as far as the coastline of Africa at Zanzibar, about 4, 000 miles away. Welded to the boulders' upper surfaces were the macabre remains of dozens of human skeletons, together with the bones of animals such as monkeys and tigers that had been killed by the blast.
However, as calamitous as these events were, they seem benign and almost insignificant when compared with the geologic events that over millions of years formed the earth as we know it. Over the past 50 years, remarkable advances have been made in understanding the nature of the earth and the forces and events that formed it. They include the eruption of supervolcanoes and cataclysmic earthquakes, global plate tectonics, the Pacific "ring of fire, " the formation of ocean floors, and the formation and movement of continents.
The good news is that according to the geological record, such events develop over a vast expanse of time. The bad news is that in some places, another catastrophic event may be overdue.
TROUBLE BREWING
One example is the caldera under Yellowstone National Park. In the prehistoric past, the area was the site of three great eruptions: one of these spewed out more than 600 cubic miles of solid material. The amount of magma expelled caused the roof of the chamber under Yellowstone to collapse, forming a one-thousand-square-mile caldera. A second series of eruptions freed about 70 cubic miles of magma, which resulted in the 17-mile-wide Island Park caldera. A third cycle of eruptions is thought to have dropped ash over much of North America and to have formed the 30-by-50-mile Yellowstone caldera.
Eruptions have occurred in the Yellowstone area about every 600, 000 years. But the last one was probably 640, 000 years ago, so some say the next one is overdue. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the three caldera-forming eruptions were, respectively, about 2, 500, 280 and 1, 000 times larger than the May 18, 1980, eruption of Mt. St. Helens in the state of Washington. "Together, " says the USGS, "the three catastrophic eruptions expelled enough ash and lava to fill the Grand Canyon."
According to experts, the science behind another possible Yellowstone eruption is reliable; only the timing is uncertain. The BBC, in conjunction with other sponsors, recently aired a £2.8 million TV docudrama that highlights the potential global fallout from a Yellowstone supervolcanic eruption.
ATLANTIC TSUNAMI?
Although there is disagreement among scientists about the significance of the threat, another disaster waiting to happen could be the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Canary Island of La Palma.
A number of American and British scientists have been watching a chunk of volcanic rock on the west side of the peak, which cracked and slipped during its 1949 eruption. Larger than the Isle of Man, the massive rock is gradually slipping further and is poised to crash into the sea. A new eruption would likely trigger the event. When this may occur is uncertain, however. No one knows whether it will be in 10 years or in 10, 000 years.
Geological hazards specialist McGuire comments: "What is certain is that at some point in the future the west flank of the Cumbre Vieja on La Palma will collapse, and the resulting tsunamis will ravage the entire Atlantic rim."
He adds that "Steven Ward of the University of California at Santa Cruz and Simon Day of University College London's Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre created quite a stir recently when they published a scientific paper that modelled the future collapse of the Cumbre Vieja and the passage of the resulting tsunamis across the Atlantic. . . . Without considerable forward planning it is unlikely that the nine hours it will take for the waves to reach the North American coastline will permit effective, large-scale evacuation, and the death toll is certain to run into millions if not tens of millions. Furthermore, the impact on the US economy will be close to terminal, with the insurance industry wiped out at a stroke and global economic meltdown following swiftly on its heels."
SPITEFUL SPIRITS
For centuries the ancients believed that volcanic eruptions expressed the dissatisfaction of the gods. Accordingly, they would offer a sacrifice--generally animal or human--in hopes of appeasing those gods and preventing catastrophes.
Throughout most of human history, natural disasters have been attributed to supernatural intervention. Andrew Robinson, in his book Earth Shock: Hurricanes, Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Tornadoes and Other Forces of Nature (2002), comments on this phenomenon:
"In Europe, earthquakes were God's punishment for sin--according to the Church at least. When a gigantic one laid waste Lisbon in November 1755, the Inquisition responded by roasting the survivors in the fires of the auto-da-fé [literally "act of faith, " public execution ceremonies]; while the pessimist Voltaire published first a poem and then, in 1759, his famous story Candide. Both works attacked the Pope--for attributing the earthquake to Man's lack of faith in God--and also the German philosopher and mathematician Leibniz--who optimistically held that God must have sent the earthquake as part of His plan for the Earth. Why Lisbon? Why not decadent London or Paris? questioned Voltaire in the poem: 'Lisbon lies in ruins, while in Paris they dance.'"
Even today natural disasters are often referred to as "acts of God." But is this how such occurrences should be viewed? Are these tragic events from the hand of a spiteful, cruel and angry God who flings natural disasters to earth with the express intention of inflicting suffering on weak and erring humans? Alternatively, are such catastrophes a sign of the end of the world?
NEW WORLD ORDER
In the Bible God describes Himself as a gentle, loving, caring Father who has mercy and compassion on His children (Psalm 103:8, 13). He states that He wants all humanity to prosper and be in health. He expresses Himself as a Being who wants to create a world in which everyone can live in peace and safety, free from the fears of either natural catastrophes or man-made calamities caused by wrong ways of life or misuse of the earth's natural resources (Isaiah 32:17-18).
But we do live in distressing times. Viewing just one day's news prompts one to long for a fundamental change in this world. And the Bible does indeed foretell some very disturbing events to come. Yet, on closer examination, these passages also provide a picture of a time when God will intervene in human affairs to ensure human survival and bring to pass a new and better order of things on this earth.
The traumatic conditions pictured by scriptures detailing the end of this age will one day come to pass, including those that are associated with earthquakes. However, the tendency of some to interpret every devastating event as a sign of the impending arrival of the end of the world is not wise (see "The Word on Earthquakes"). In every case so far, such predictions have turned out to be untrue. The events prophesied in Matthew 24 and the book of Revelation will occur. And they will lead up to the return of Jesus Christ to this earth. However, Christ Himself told us that we cannot know precisely when this will happen (Matthew 24:36).
What should be our reaction to disastrous events that are certain to continue? Shouldn't we be more concerned about our own spiritual condition on a daily basis rather than speculating and worrying that natural disasters are a sign that the end is near? After all, none of us knows exactly when we will die, but in an individual sense the time of our own end could be tomorrow. Wouldn't it be better to prepare for that end and look forward to the fulfillment of the promise that humanity will survive than to focus on the environmental issues that are seemingly out of our control? According to biblical prophecies, there is a new and infinitely better world coming, and it will be free from the devastating disasters of this unstable earth.

Nature serves humans and is the source of our bare necessities. Nowadays, the global trend is towards saving nature. In the light of this awakening, the trend is changing in textiles from manmade materials to eco-friendly ones. The demand of the consumers is also changing from polyester and conventional cotton to eco-friendly garments.
These kind of eco-friendly garments are made from different products like Lycocell, Ingeo, Organic cotton, Hemp, Bamboo and Soy. The fibre which is made of wool-pulp cellulose is known as Lycocell. This is a good alternative of rayon.
Hemp fibre does not need pesticides. Just a small quantity of water is enough for the production of this fibre.
Ingeo is a fibre made of bio-degradable material. This is a fibre made by man by converting corn into polymer. Organic cotton is the material which is made by using organic materials. No pesticides are used in its production. The amount of water being used is also 25% less than what is used in conventional cotton production.
The fabric being produced from bamboo is soft and has anti-bacterial qualities. The fabric made by using different soy products like soybean oil, soy-milk and others are similar to silk in look and even in feel.
All these eco-friendly materials are produced using less water than others. They are manufactured without using any pesticides and bio-degradable materials. So, even the working environment is good for the health of workers.
It is a common belief that natural cotton is the most environment-friendly. In reality only those cottons are environment-friendly in the production of which no pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides pollute the soil and thus they harm the environment. When cotton is dyed using chemical dyes, it contains heavy metals. These heavy metals contaminate the soil and crops. Thus the cotton being produced by these kinds of materials is not eco-friendly. Only those fabrics and materials are known as eco-friendly ones which do not harm the environment in any way and do not pollute the air, water or soil.
Soy fibers are fibers obtained from soy plants. In the year 1999, soybeans were used in a different way. He made underwear from the fibers made from soy plants. It was a good and economical alternative to conventional cloth. This cloth was smooth to touch and was very popular in the U.S. and Europe. China is a leading exporter and manufacturer of soy fabrics in the world, which is growing day by day.

Recycled ink cartridges are a great way to do your part for the environment and save money on the purchase. So much energy and resource material is used in making technological products. And just think about how often you’ve seen a computer monitor or TV laying on the side of the road waiting to be picked up?
Recycled printer cartridges, then, can be a really practical and inexpensive way to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Recycle
Let’s say your current ink cartridges run out of ink. This is where you can make the first change. The first way you can help the environment is to recycle your printer cartridges. Nowadays, most cartridges come with a postage-paid envelope in which you can mail the empty cartridge back to the manufacturer. This helps reduce resource consumption and it saves you money. How, you ask?
Buy Recycled
The next time you find yourself running out of ink, don’t just pick up any old cartridge to replace the old one. Instead, buy recycled ink cartridges. They are most often cheaper than the new cartridges and you are helping preserve valuable resources and energy by doing so. Even so, there is still one other way you can be good to the environment and your bank account in regards to printer cartridge purchases.
Refill
Refilling kits are a type of recycling in a sense. You are not purchasing a new cartridge, rather, just the ink that goes inside of it. When you run out of ink, you can order a refill kit, which contains instructions and the ink itself. You’ll simple refill the empty cartridge in your own home. You save money and again, conserve the environment.
Recycled ink cartridges are the way of the immediate future. All you need is the will power to try something different and you’ll be saving money and going green all at the same time! That’s a hard combination to beat, don’t you think?
You can even stop by most office supplies stores these days and drop off your empty cartridges to be recycled in a special bin. Everybody’s on the recycling bandwagon, so why aren’t you?

The arguments for global warming can sound a bit vacuous when discussing temperature changes of only one degree. The impact of the melting Arctic ice cap on animals is much more tangible.
Animals and The Melting Arctic Ice Cap
There is little dispute that the Arctic ice cap is melting. Since 1979, it has definitively shrunk by 20 percent. The issue amongst most people debating global warming is whether this is because of global warming or just a natural cycle of the planet.
From a common sense point of view, it is difficult to imagine global warming is having no impact on the ice caps. The rising temperature of the planet would seem to be a common sense cause of the melting ice. Alas, common sense rarely seems to be used in debates these days.
As the cap melts, the impact on animals in the area is readily apparent. The primary problem is the reduction of habitat. Polar bears are the most obvious animals suffering from this situation. The habitat of the polar bears is the ice flow areas around the edges of the caps. As the caps melt, the flows are disappearing and pulling back to the extent that there is no ice on the shores. The extent of the melting is such that a Russian ship was able to reach the North Pole in 2005 without the use of an ice breaker. This lost habitat is pushing the polar bears to the edge of extinction. Various estimates put the total population at 20, 000 and dropping.
There are, however, positive developments for some species. Recent empirical evidence shows the various seal populations of the Arctic are exhibiting growing population numbers. The exact reason is unclear, but they are appearing more and more in southern regions of the cap, which leads to the conclusion that their habitat is actually expanding.
The receding caps are also opening up extensive new habitats for fish. The melting ice is full of nutrients and fish migration to the new opening seas is astounding. Pink salmon, in particular is being seen spawning in rivers far to the north of their usual spawning grounds.
In general, the impact of the melting Arctic ice caps is a mixed situation. The polar bears certainly don’t see anything to be happy about.

For the first time since the oil shortages in the 1970s, efforts to convert to renewable energy have accelerated. In the case of wind power in Maine, this has caused an odd conflict.
Environmentalists and the Wind Power Debate In Maine
If you have filled up at the gas station recently, you know fuel prices are going through the roof. There is only so much fine crude in the world, and it is under pressure. Most people don’t understand that there are different types of oil. The type that is best for transportation and utility generation is very limited. Throw in the impact of pollution, issues of global warming, and you have a sudden motivation to seek alternatives.
Wind power is a tremendous renewable energy source. Every country has wind, so supply is not a problem. The conversion of wind energy to electricity produces no pollution, another positive in our environmentally stressed world. For environmentalist, however, there is a quandary.
The State of Maine was made for wind power. Whether on mountain tops, valleys or offshore bays and islands, excellent conditions exist for producing electricity through wind. The powers that be in Maine have recognized as much and begun the process of taking advantage of the situation. No less than five wind power farms are planned. When completed, they will produce over 40 percent of the electrical needs of the state. Put another way, we are talking about a major use of non-fossil fuel resources.
Alas, this unabated commitment to wind power is causing environmentalist a problem. Wind farms, by their nature, tend to take up significant space. Further, they need to be in open areas where the wind is not impeded by buildings and such. The available areas in Maine, of course, tend to be habitats for rare or threatened species.
Ah, now you see the quandary. Environmentalists are pro clean energy, but what about the species and habitats? If wind power farms are not allowed in Maine, the perfect place, how can anyone argue they are a viable energy platform? At this point, there is no definitive answer being given by environmental groups. The ultimate outcome will speak volumes about the future of wind power.
