The School of Art and Designs annual exhibition took place on Thursday
19 June, featuring students work created over a period of either one
or two years
Students from Lancaster and Morecambe College took part in an art competition
and their designs will be up for sale at the Tutti Frutti 1950s Seaside Festival,
taking place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July
The partnership of Lancashire Probation Service, CxL, Jobcentre Plus, Myerscough
College, Lancashire College and Blackpool and the Fylde College led by the
lead provider for offender learning in Lancashire, Lancaster and Morecambe
College, was successful in the national Adult Learners Week awards
E2E (Entry to Employment) students at Lancaster and Morecambe College recently
supported the Paul Hunter Foundation at a snooker and pool tournament. The
tournament, held at Rileys in Preston, involved over 120 young people
and Keiron Parnell, from LMC, made it through to the final
Myths about mens health were confronted at the colleges Mens
Health Day, on Thursday 12 June 2008. The event was organised by the Health
and Safety Team to target mens awareness of health and understanding
of health related issues
Following the Colleges Green Gown Award as winner of 2007/8 Colleges

A 300 strong audience were wowed by Lancaster and Morecambe Colleges
Level 3 Hairdressing students when they presented their Revival Hair Show at
The Platform in Morecambe. The crowd were also treated to a demonstration
by the Schwarzkopf Young Artistic Team
An Access student from LMC has been awarded 200 pounds for his outstanding
work. Neil Peacock, who completed his Access course last year, was nominated
by his tutors for this outstanding achievement award, and was overwhelmed with
his success
Access students who have successfully completed a variety of Level 2 qualifications
were awarded their certificates by Anne Purvis during a celebration lunch on
Wednesday 2 April in the Roeburn Suite
Students representing Lancaster and Morecambe College and the North-West Region
returned from the British Colleges National Finals at Loughborough with
medals to show for their efforts
We may be experiencing wet and windy weather here in Lancaster, but the future
is looking bright (and decidedly warmer) for students completing their Preparation
for Working Overseas course
