How to easily Export / Import blogs within Blogger

The export / import feature in Blogger was already made available last Summer of 2008 but not fully-implemented since it earned negative reviews and feedbacks. Many have experienced problems during the initial trial.
Eversince, Blogger users find it hard to import blog posts and comments, unlike in Wordpress where importing of a Blogger content is easily done with just a few clicks.
Over the last few months, Blogger in Draft received lots of feedback and so far has made a number of improvements. This feature now supports large blogs. Blogger in Draft thinks"it's just about ready for prime time".
On the 24th November 2008, Blogger in Draft posted that they need users who can help them test the import / export feature and so I responded without them knowing it, until now.
I was able to export and import content from one of my blogs to a new one. This means that Blogger in Draft's statement has been proven to be correct. I think, this feature deserves a relaunch which will pave way to its integration in regular Blogger.
Now, I would like to show to you how easy it is to use the export / import service in Blogger in Draft.- First, you need to login in Blogger in Draft.
- In your dashboard, select the 'Settings' option corresponding the blog that contains the posts that you are going to export. Click it.
- Once you're in, click the 'Settings' tab and 'Blog Tools' will be shown. Click 'Export Blog'.
- The Blogger Atom export file format containing your posts and the comments must be downloaded in your hard disk drive.
- Once the file is successfully downloaded, go back to your dashboard.
- Click the 'Settings' button of the blog that you want the file uploaded.
- Click the 'Settings' tab to reveal 'Blog Tools'.
- Click 'Import blog' and then browse and select the format file that you grabbed a while ago.
- Enter correctly the Captcha characters and then click 'Import Blog'.
- Wait for the whole process to finish. After that, you will be given the option as to which posts to immediately published. You can also select 'publish all' if you want to.
The last screenshot shows that I have successfuly imported all my posts, including the comments, from a Blogger blog to another one.

An email sender requested us to post this step-by-step procedure on transforming Windows Vista into Windows 7. He said that the source site is not available for public viewing most of the time so might as well post this here to benefit all who are interested. So, here it is.
Reminder: Try this at your own risk. You should have a software tweaking experience or at least with somebody who is technically-versed on computer softwares to assist in the application of this procedure. We shall not be held liable for any damage this might cause to your system in case something is messed up.
Tranform Windows Vista into Windows 7
1. Windows 7 Boot Screen
- Download the Windows 7 boot screen for Vista by Vishal Gupta.
- Open the folder “%windir%\System32\en-US” and replace the existing “winload.exe.mui” file with the one in zip file. You will need to take ownership of the file before copying it. Please take a back up of the actual file before replacing it.
- Start -> Run -> msconfig and in the Boot tab, select the “Microsoft Windows Vista” entry and enable the “No GUI Boot” option and click apply. Restart your system for changes to take affect and watch the new boot screen in action.
2. Logon Screen:
Developed by pugalenthi.- Download file
- Download and install LogonVista:
- Load the logon which is in the rar file
- Take permission for basebrd.dll from c:\windows\branding\basebrd\basebrd.dll
- Replace with the given dll
- Logout and see the changes

6. Right Click Menu -
Windows 7 has the Gadgets shortcut and the Display Settings shortcut in the Right-Click Menu, the following link will help you achieve the same as shown in the screen shot.

7. Aero Snap - Just drag a window to a corner and it sticks there, if you liked this nifty feature added to Windows 7, rejoice for it is available on Vista too.

8. Aero Shake - Like the new Windows 7 feature, shaking the active window with your mouse will minimize all other windows; shaking it again will restore them.

9. Win 7 Calculator
Some genius figured out that you can use the Windows 7 calculator in Windows Vista too. All you need to do is replace some system files and you’re done. To do this:- Make a backup of C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe
- Replace it with the one in the archive.
- Backup C:Windows\System32\en-US\calc.exe.mui
- Replace it with the one in the archive.
10. Sidebar - As Windows 7 won’t be featuring a ‘Sidebar’ you can simply drag your gadgets out of the sidebar then:- Right click on the Sidebar.
- Select Close Sidebar.
11. Wordpad Styled Notepad - A stand-alone application which emulates the looks of the new wordpad coded by Solo-Dev:

Windows 7, the next release of Microsoft Windows operating system after Windows Vista, is set to be released in late 2009 (although it is the second quarter of 2010 that is foreseen by some as the more accurate time frame).
Aside from the Multi-Touch (touch screen) capability of Windows 7, there is also a strong expectation that Microsoft DirectX 11, a new Application Programming Interface (API), will likewise be integrated.
Tim Malley of Bit-Tech.Net, in his article 'A look at what's coming', revealed that "the new API is still a work in progress".
He added:"xxx so we arrive at DirectX 11, the next major update to Microsoft's fabled graphics API. Microsoft's DirectX architects haven't been resting on their laurels since DirectX 10's release – in fact, even before DirectX 10.1 shipped with Vista SP1, the company had already started work on what is now known as DirectX 11, but that's certainly not the end of it because developers we've spoken to have even made comments about what they need in DirectX 12!"
I will follow through this development. The graphical display brought about by Microsoft DirectX 11 is amazing. Although I cannot confirm the authenticity of these photos, I really enjoyed watching as these look more realistic.

A top Microsoft executive announced just recently the company's plan to phase out sales of its Windows Live OneCare subscription offering but has promised to continue to support all of their subscribers for the terms of their subscription and help ensure their PCs are protected and up to date.
Amy Barzdukas, Microsoft's Senior Director of Product Management, has confirmed this move in order to focus on removing hardware and cost barriers that can limit access to core malware protection. It is somehow a redirection of the current offering to a new one as Microsoft will be realigning its products to suit the current user demands for anti-malware protection.
In an interview on 18th November 2008, Barzdukas revealed a new anti-malware offering, codenamed "Morro", which is scheduled to be released in the second half of June 2009. "Morro" will provide protection from a variety of threats – including viruses, spyware, rootkits and Trojans – and is specifically designed to address the demands of smaller PC form factors and the rapid increases in the incidence of global malware."The decision to offer a new anti-malware solution, code-named “Morro, ” at no additional cost to consumers is driven by our commitment to provide a trustworthy computing experience. We know that there are still some 60 percent of consumers in developed markets, and even more in emerging markets, that don’t have up-to-date security protection on their PCs, and we want to help provide that core level of protection", Barzdukas said.
She added, "Providing access to a trusted solution at no charge is the right thing to do to help protect our customers. Through this new offering we are removing barriers to adoption and providing consumers with the core malware protection they need from a company they can trust. We’ll also be able to continue capturing threat intelligence that will help our security researchers develop new signatures and continue protection enhancements from which all consumers — and enterprises — can benefit".
Sounding very attractive isn't it? There was no clear statement whether or not "Morro" will be fully available for free. Read on.Barzdukas: "This offering is not a free version of Windows Live OneCare. “Morro” represents a new offering that is designed in response to market changes and consumer needs. We hear from consumers that they need core malware protection in low-bandwidth scenarios, or that will run on less powerful machines. That's why we will design “Morro” to have a smaller footprint and to use fewer computing resources.
I personally do not know how computer users will embrace "Morro". The codename itself is somewhat awkward. But, oh well, it is just a codename.
This new solution will not offer or support multi-PC “circle” management, printer sharing, performance-enhancing tools such as disk defragmenting, or any of the backup and restore capabilities that make up the Windows Live OneCare suite.
Current Windows Live OneCare subscribers won’t notice any changes and there is no action needed. We will continue to support all of our subscribers for the terms of their subscription and help ensure their PCs are protected and up to date. Once the new offering is available, existing Windows Live OneCare subscribers will be given the option to migrate or to choose a different security solution from a variety of third-party consumer security providers.
Protecting consumers and ensuring a positive Windows experience is our primary goal, and we will continue to invest in security efforts that benefit the majority of today’s consumers. We've been making great strides in improving the security of all of our software, and we continue to hold that commitment".
This announcement of a Microsoft top brass is still fresh. More and more revelations will come out in the future as the world will be anticipating the release of this new anti-malware offering and the benefits it will serve.

Brief history:
Vista Transformation Pack is a popular software from WindowsX, a.k.a. Lucifiar, of the WindowsX Live website. It is a freeware with third-party applications that can make your Windows XP look and behave like Windows Vista. The latest version is version 9.0.1 which you can download here.
In my previous article, I have promised to post a short review of the new Vista Transformation Pack version 9.0.1 so here it is. Oh wait, before that, let me show you some screenshots taken during VTP installation.
