A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young Mothers and their small children.
'You all have obsessions, ' he observed. To the first mother, Mary, he said, 'You are obsessed with eating. You even named your daughter Candy.'
He turned to the second Mom, Ann: 'Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny.'
He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: 'Your obsession is alcohol. This too shows itself in your child's name, Brandy.'
At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, 'Come on, Dick, we're leaving. Your brothers Peter and Willy are waiting for us.'Wed, 03 Sep 2008 20:44:35 GMT

In St. Paul this week, a new generation of media makers is under assault by the city's mayor and law enforcement officers. These leaders think free speech is a privilege that extends only to their closest allies in the mainstream media. For the rest of us, it's a crime.

Why does the old fella's VP support and speak at another party's convention - the Alaskan Independence Party - a party founded in 1978 to promote the Alaskan independence movement! :)
It makes you question the old fella's judgement .... and she could be just a heart-beat away from the Presidency of the US!
Quote:
*Sarah Palin's ties to Alaskan Independence Party are played down*
* The McCain campaign denies his running mate supports the party's separatist bent.

Tonight, Sarah Palin will be nominated as the Republican Party's choice for vice president of the United States.
But back home, she has cheered the work of a tiny party that long has pushed for a statewide vote on whether Alaska should secede from those same United States. And her husband, Todd, was a member of the party for seven years.
"Keep up the good work, " Sarah Palin told members of the Alaskan Independence Party in a videotaped speech (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwvPNXYrIyI) to their convention six months ago in Fairbanks. She wished the party luck on what she called its "inspiring convention."
The Alaskan Independence Party, founded in 1978, initially promoted "the Alaskan independence movement." But now, according to its website, "its primary goal is merely a vote on secession (http://www.akip.org/introduction.html)."Wed, 03 Sep 2008 15:58:51 GMT
There are less than three months until the election, an election
that will decide the next President of the United States . The person
elected will be the president of all Americans, not just the
Democrats or the Republicans. To show our solidarity as Americans,
let's all get together and show each other our support for the
candidate of our choice. It's time that we all came together,
Democrats and Republicans alike. If you support the policies and
character of John McCain, please drive with your headlights on during
the day. If you support Obama, please drive with your headlights off at night.
Thank you for your participation in this patriotic endeavor!
May you have a nice day...night or what ever?Wed, 03 Sep 2008 14:34:19 GMT

We tried so hard to make things better for our kids that we made them worse. For my grandchildren, I'd like better.
I'd really like for them to know about hand me down clothes and homemade ice cream and leftover meat loaf sandwiches. I really would.
I hope you learn humility by being humiliated, and that you learn honesty by being cheated.
I hope you learn to make your own bed and mow the lawn and wash the car.
And I really hope nobody gives you a brand new car when you are sixteen.
It will be good if at least one time you can see puppies born and your old dog put to sleep.
I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in.
I hope you have to share a bedroom with your younger brother/sister. And it's all right if you have to draw a line down the middle of the room, but when he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he's scared, I hope you let him.
When you want to see a movie and your little brother/sister wants to tag along, I hope you'll let him/her.
I hope you have to walk uphill to school with your friends and that you live in a town where you can do it safely.
On rainy days when you have to catch a ride, I hope you don't ask your driver to drop you two blocks away so you won't be seen riding with someone as uncool as your Mom.
If you want a slingshot, I hope your Dad teaches you how to make one instead of buying one.
I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books.
When you learn to use computers, I hope you also learn to add and subtract in your head.
I hope you get teased by your friends when you have your first crush on a boy/girl, and when you talk back to your mother that you learn what ivory soap tastes like.
May you skin your knee climbing a mountain, burn your hand on a stove and stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.
I don't care if you try a beer once, but I hope you don't like it.. And if a friend offers you dope or a joint, I hope you realize he is not your friend.
I sure hope you make time to sit on a porch with your Grandma/Grandpa and go fishing with your Uncle.
May you feel sorrow at a funeral and joy during the holidays.
I hope your mother punishes you when you throw a baseball through your neighbor's window and that she hugs you and kisses you at Christmas time when you give her a plaster mold of your hand.
These things I wish for you - tough times and disappointment, hard work and happiness. To me, it's the only way to appreciate life.

I purchased a powercat passport and just finished watching the game online from Saturday. After watching the game, I can honestly say that I am impressed with the new recruits this year. Keithen Valentine a junior college transfer played a good game and carried the ball 13 times for 67 yards and 1 TD. The true freshman from Garden Plain, Logan Dold did a great job also, he carried the ball 9 times for 53 yards and had 1 reception for 8 yards.
Aubrey Quarles another Juco transfer played a good game he had 6 receptions for 57 yards. Brandon Banks, also a Juco transfer did very well and had 3 receptions for 88 yards with 2 TD's. Lamark Brown looks like he might step up to the challenge since Jordy has departed. He had 3 receptions all year last year, this game he had 4 receptions for 45 yards with 1 TD. The offense finished the game with 78 plays for 471 yards, 165 rushing and 306 passing. Averaging over 6 yards per play. They didn't even punt the ball until Freeman sat out!
The Wildcats didn't even commit a penalty until there was less than 5 minutes left in the first half. Penalties really hurt them last year and it looks like there might be a big improvement in that area over last year.
Josh Freeman only played 2 1/2 quarters then Carson Coffman took over. On the defensive side it looked like Ian Campbell only played about 2 1/2 quarters as well. Ian also recorded his first sack of the season in this game and caused a couple of hurries for the Mean Green quarterback. The defense held North Texas to 55 plays for 205 yards, 105 rushing and 100 yards passing. That is 3.73 yards per play!
I think that the Wildcats have a good season in front of them if they can continue to improve their play and work on a few minor mistakes that were committed.Tue, 02 Sep 2008 16:13:54 GMT
Nick Andrews died yesterday after suffering from a heart attack while riding his motorcycle down one of the mountain near woodland park. He just told his wife to get off the bike and Video tape his ride while she was taping him he crashed. When they ran over to him he was gone. Nick was 36 years old left behind his 14 year old son Pete and 9 year old daughter Majesta and his wife. Prayers out to the Andrews family.
Ride on Nick we love you!Tue, 02 Sep 2008 14:24:01 GMT
While I believe McCain is the better candidate there are things that I don't like about him.
I believe the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty bill for illegals was a huge mistake and I'm not sure what he was thinking or whom he was representing on that one. Thank goodness it was voted down.
Although it appears he has "toughened" his stance on illegal immigration I believe he will revert back to Amnesty.
I wasn't fond of this either....
John McCain believes we should institute a summer gas tax holiday. Hard-working American families are suffering from higher gasoline prices. John McCain called on Congress to suspend the 18.4 cent federal gas tax and 24.4 cent diesel tax from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Not too fond of his "HOME" plan bailing out people making bad financial decisions. Buying a home is an investment. Some people make good investments...some make bad investments....we shouldn't bail out people that lose money on bad investments.Tue, 02 Sep 2008 12:27:18 GMT

I bought a new 2008 Caddy and returned to the dealer the next day complaining that I couldn't figure out how the radio worked. The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated. "Watch this!", he said, "Nelson"!
The Radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?"
Willie!", He continued and "On The Road Again" came from the speakers. Then he said, "Ray Charles!", and in an instant "Georgia On My Mind" replaced Willie Nelson.
I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say, "Beethoven, " I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said, "Beatles, " I'd get one of their awesome songs.
Yesterday, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my new car, but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled, "****!" Immediately the French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane Fonda and Barbara Streisand, backed up by Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks, with John Kerry on guitar, Al Gore on drums, Dan Rather on harmonica, Nancy Pelosi on tambourine, Harry Reid on spoons, Bill Clinton on sax and Ted Kennedy on scotch.
****, I LOVE this car!Mon, 01 Sep 2008 18:48:06 GMT
A man wakes up one morning to find a bear on his roof.
So he looks in the yellow pages and sure enough, there's an ad for "Bear Removers."
He calls the number, and the bear remover says he'll be over in 30 minutes.
The bear remover arrives, and gets out of his van.
He's got a ladder, a baseball bat, a shotgun and a mean old pit bull.
"What are you going to do, " the homeowner asks?
"I'm going to put this ladder up against the roof, then I'm going to go up there and knock the bear off the roof with this baseball bat. When the bear falls off, the pit bull is trained to grab his private parts and not let go. The bear will then be subdued enough for me to put him in the cage in the back of the van."
He hands the shotgun to the homeowner.
"What's the shotgun for?" asks the homeowner.
"If the bear knocks me off the roof, shoot the dog."Mon, 01 Sep 2008 11:10:32 GMT
Does John McCain Have a Tax Problem? Answer: Probably « Major Garretts Bourbon Room « FOXNews.com (http://bourbonroom.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/31/does-john-mccain-have-a-tax-problem-answer-probably/)
Hey, this is actually from -- Fox. Some highlights.

Add to this the mounting evidence that McCains TV commercials assailing Obamas tax policy contain serious distortions, if not out-right lies.
On Aug. 8, FactCheck.org, published this report on a spate of new McCain TV spots on Obama and taxes.
Read it here:
www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/more_tax_deceptions.html (http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/more_tax_deceptions.html)
That report followed one in July that raised similar concerns about the truthfulness of the McCain attacks on Obama. Read it here: www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/the_32000_question.html
(http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/the_32000_question.html)
And today The Washington Post published this blistering editorial that comes as close as any Beltway publication can to using the word lie to describe McCains criticism of Obamas tax policies. Read it here:
www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/30/AR2008083001681.html (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/30/AR2008083001681.html)
The Post editorial specifically mentions a side-by-side analysis of McCain and Obama tax policies by the non-partisan Tax Policy Center. Here is the link to the centers updated comparison posted on Aug. 28:
