About the Role: The Marketing Programs Specialist - Direct Marketing role is integral to VerticalResponses rapidly growing marketing organization and is responsible for driving new customer acquisition through online advertising. Qualifications Include:
* 3+ years of direct marketing and lead generation experience

* Identify performance-based advertising opportunities and aggressively pursue placement
* Analyze and optimize campaign performance to continually improve ROI

* Manage outsourced telemarketing agency in support of client acquisition

The University of California Press seeks and energetic and creative individual to fill the open position of Assistant Marketing Director. The Assistant Marketing Director is the chief functional manager who is responsible for all of the Presss online, direct to consumer, and academic marketing activities, including optimal use of the UC Press website for promotional purposes, managing a large number of related online marketing programs and initiatives, and reporting on their success. Specific responsibilities include search engine optimization, content enhancements for the UC Press website, management of the Presss email newsletter program and RSS feeds, management of UC Press blogs, integration of online campaigns with traditional promotional campaigns, as well as general supervision of the presss direct marketing efforts. The incumbent will also be responsible for the management of three direct reports, for synthesizing department evaluations of editorial sponsoring proposals, and for acting as the department liaison for university distribution clients.
Requirements: Interested applicants should have a strong knowledge of book publishing, preferably in an academic publishing environment. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of book industry experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a management role involving promotion planning and direct supervision of staff. The Business Intelligence Analyst in will play a key role in delivering data solutions to end users across the Redball organization. The BI analyst will assist with documenting, developing, and supporting our data mining and reporting infrastructure. The analyst will work with research and product teams to understand the reporting requirements and the available data sources in order to design and develop a functional reporting framework.
Responsibilities:
Perform data mining, reporting and analysis to support product teams, research, market intelligence, and management team.
Work with business intelligence product manager to map product and research team needs into data solutions.
Develop data programs to educate effective product development.
Design, develop, and administer reports, dashboards and a reporting portal that will integrate multiple data sources within a single interface.
Ability to pull and analyze a large amount of data with the intent of producing models that predict a given user behavior or preference.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing or equivalent training and experience.
Experience with data integration methodologies, data warehousing, data mining and analysis.
Experience with Microstrategy desktop or other web analytics applications preferred.
Strong knowledge of SQL and Excel required.
Ability to consolidate and effectively present data and information.
