Svetlovodsk Silica Manufacturing Plant. Silica bricks are of one the best fire-retardant construction materials, have high heat capacity and low heat conductivity. Silica Brick has low real density, low thermal expansion, and high crushing strength; low reheat linear change, etc. The resudal quartz is less than 1%. Construction is the most dynamic sector of the East European economies, the market of 250 million people. The Eastern European construction market report, published annually, is used for making strategic plans for market entry, or to increase revenues. Svetlovodsk (Kirovograd region) is situated "jump" from Kremenchuk which is the large industrial city of Poltava region and one of the leading industrial centers of Ukraine. It contributes with about seven percent of the national economy and accounts for more than 50% of the industrial output of Poltava region. Enterprises as Autokraz, Ukrtatnafta, Machine works, an Automobile manufacturing plant, the Kriukov Car Building Works, the Kremenchuk Wheel Plant. As mentioned, Kremenchuk is home to the KrAZ truck-manufacturing company which one of the largest in Eastern Europe, as well as a there is a major European oil refinery operated by Ukrtatnafta. The light industries of the city include the JTI-Tobacco, Roshen confectionery, knitting factories as well as milk and meat processing plants. Kremenchuk is one of the most important railway junctions of Central Ukraine (thanks to its geographical position and a bridge over the Dnepr river), and a major river port. Partners looking to invest in this area of the world also often need to be convinced that their investment will be safe on some level. There are all sorts of stories out there that the markets of Ukraine and Russia are high risk markets for investment. Standard and Poor's, for example, rates Ukraine as a BB for investment-not as high as the countries of the EU and the US. It has been revised up from a much lower rate. The administrative-territorial system of Ukraine is comprised of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the following twenty-four oblasts: Cherkassy, Chernigov, Chernovtsy, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankovsk, Kharkov, Kherson, Khmelnitsky, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lvov, Lugansk, Nikolayev, Odessa, Poltava, Rovno, Sumy, Ternopol, Vinnitsa, Volyn', Zakarpattia, Zaporozhe, and Zhitomir. Ukraine is a multinational country with over 130 nationalities, national groups and ethnic associations residing on its territory. National minorities together with the Ukrainians are building the independent and democratic state. Ethnic Ukrainians make up 77.8 percent [over 37 million] of the population. According to the results of the all-Ukrainian population census of 2001 Ukrainians is the largest population with 37, 541, 700 or 77.8 percent of the total. During the years that passed the previous census of 1989 the number of Ukrainians increased by 0.3 percent with their proportion among the inhabitants of Ukraine by 5.1 percent. Russians are the largest minority in Ukraine, and, compared with the census report data of 1989; their number had decreased by 26.6 percent, making up 8, 334, 100 persons at the time of the 2001 census. The portion of Russians in the total of the population had declined by 4.8 percent and amounts to 17.3 percent.
