So how can I use self-hypnosis and NLP to keep me going? Incorporating NLP into my effort is super-easy- I create and set an anchor that I can fire each time I feel like comfort eating. I am quite susceptible to this sort of thing- so I chose to set a bursting-with-happiness anchor. To find out how to do this, I am afraid you will have to order your own copy of the Papillon Program.
Incorporating Self-hypnosis is a bit more complicated. Naturally, I will benefit from the relaxation aspect of it. My life is so stressful at the moment; I can do with all the help I can get. But if I am finally going to get rid of those extra kilos permanently, I need more.
Like I said, I don't have any difficulty starting a diet and/or exercise program, it's keeping at it that seems to be my downfall. I checked all the common ecological factors. Is there secondary gain? Does this extra weight serve a purpose? Do I really want to lose this weight? No, no and yes!
It struck me that the problem may be insufficient preparation. Not physical, I know I have to empty the cupboards off temptation and get in all the healthy stuff before I go on a diet. I mean mental preparation. So I design a bespoke program of twice a day self-hypnosis sessions that incorporates a relaxation induction, a suggestion phase with personalised affirmations based famous motivational and inspirational quotes that have been meaningful to me in my life so far, a powerful confidence boosting phase to make me feel better about myself, my favorite weight loss script (the first one in the Papillon Program), a script of help me stick to my exercise program and a chocolate aversion script to cure me of my current chocolate addiction.
Did it work? Tell you tomorrow.

Recently, I was editing the New Papillon Program when I had a blinding insight. What started as a purely superficial intellectual exercise ended as an in-depth personal exploration of my own theory.
How did it all come about? At the time I was preparing the material for the book, my personal life was rather complicated. I had just emerged from a difficult divorce, moved to a foreign country, retired from my job, started a new relationship and my own business. Somewhere along the way I had also picked up a few very stubborn kilos that I just couldn't get rid off.
I'd start dieting (usually on a Monday), perfectly motivated and committed, but within 24 to 48 hours I would have found a very good reason to come off my diet. Sometimes it wasn't that well defined, I would just sort of slide off without noticing, until at some point I would realize that whet I am eating now could under no circumstances fit into any diet plan.
The proof is out here on my blog for all to see, ex the post of the 18th of December. I started in full sail, but only a couple of days later the title of the blog post for the day is "My Diet is Dead".
As I was working with the self-hypnosis material the whole day long, it did eventually dawn on me that I could try it on myself.
Why is it so difficult the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th or 5th) time around? First I needed to formulate the problem clearly. So what is the matter here? I can get the energy and courage together to start, but persevering beyond 48 hours seems impossible.
So how did I use Self Hypnosis for Weight Loss and NLP to keep me motivated to stick to my diet?
Tell you tomorrow.

I have FINALLY finished the 2008 New Papillon Weight Management Program. It is based on the following (please let me know what you think of the promotional text):
Self-hypnosis for weight loss works effortlessly and permanently because:
1.effortlessly because you only have to sit back in a chair and listen to a recording once a day
2.effectively because you combine self-hypnosis with a couple of very specific NLP techniques it makes the hypnosis much more effective than traditional hypnosis (full details in the Papillon Weight Management Program)
3.permanently because you make self-hypnosis a habit for the rest of your life, and as you can adjust the script to fit your current circumstances it always remains fresh and powerful
4.of the additional benefits of self-hypnosis which include
*relaxation and stress reduction which counter-acts comfort eating
*increased self-confidence induces you to take better care of yourself and increases self-respect, giving you the incentive and motivation to stick to your eating plan.
5.the beneficial effects are self-perpetuating-as you experience the benefits of self-hypnosis in many areas of your life (apart from losing weight, you are also more relaxed and confident, so your relationships and communication skills improve) you find it easy to make time to invest in your own well-being.
The Papillon Weight Management Program is firmly based on the principles above, offering you’re a viable long-term strategy to lose weight and keep it of…forever. This strategy puts you right back in total control of your life and your weight, effortlessly and enjoyably.Margarethe

Your attitude affects your ability to lose weight. A positive attitude begins with a healthy self-image. If you love who you are and are confident and optimistic, you make others feel the same way. Even with a lot of weight to lose, you can still respect yourself.
A negative attitude, on the other hand, has the opposite effect. So, adopting a negative attitude has a twofold drawback. If you feel bad about yourself, and you make others feel the same way. Very counter-productive if you are trying to lose weight.
Positive thoughts are invigorating. The people around you are energized by this type of attitude. Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on other people. Aside from making you look gloomy and sad, negative thoughts can turn a festive gathering into a funeral wake.
A positive attitude attracts people, while a negative attitude repels them. People tend to shy away from those who project a negative attitude.
You have much to gain from a very positive attitude. For one, studies have shown that a positive attitude promotes weight loss. Those with this kind of attitude also have more friends. Adopting a positive attitude also helps one to handle stress and problems better than those who have a negative attitude.
Make it one of your New Year's Resolutions. Adopt a positive attitude today.

I have never had much time for the GI diet; I wrote it of as just another fad diet that would soon be out of fashion. But I may be ready to revise my opinion. The incidence of diabetes is rising steadily, and often it is due exclusively to the amount of high-sugar foods and high GI carbohydrates we subject our bodies to over a prolonged period. If one bombards the islands of Langerhans in the pancreas with high-sugar, high GI foods daily over a period of years, they eventually stops producing insulin. This results in insulin dependant diabetes.
Obesity is now an epidemic in the United States and many in the medical community believe that this is contributory to the corresponding diabetic epidemic. It is the general consensus of the medical community that obesity is a precursor to diabetes. Therefore, one can prevent the disease by making some healthy life choices that will eliminate their need for medication or insulin in later years.
The Glycemic Index is very helpful because it rates different carbohydrates based upon their effect on the different levels of blood glucose. Those foods that digest rapidly cause the less harm to the system and have a low glycemic index. The carbohydrates that take a longer time to digest have a higher rate as they cause more harm to the blood glucose level.
The Glycemic Index ranges from one to one hundred. A low food in the glycemic index has a rating of below 55. These include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and some pastas. Foods that fall between the 56 to 69 range are considered "medium" in the Glycemic Index. They include candy bars, croissants and some rices.
Surprisingly, although a candy bar scores in the medium classification of the glycemic index, it is not as harmful as those carbohydrates that score in the high glycemic index range. These include corn flakes, white rice, white bread and baked potato.
Best way to prevent or reverse the effects of pre diabetes is to maintain a healthy weight. This can be easily accomplished through diet and exercise.
Keep this in mind over Christmas time- moderation is the key to long term good health.More information about the GI and diabetes is available on my website: www.hypnosis-for-diets.com
The "Perfect Diet" is available at www.browse-ebooks.com

Another day, another party. It seems my life consists of an endless round of social gatherings characterised by endless amounts of irresistible temptations of the food and drink category.
I can just about manage to stick to my exercise program, as long as:
1. It is not snowing
2. I don't wake up with a hang over
3. I haven't got an injury (forgot to warm up properly)
4. I can find 15 minute during the day to myself
But my diet has gone completely haywire!
Anyway, I don't want to end up like Jack:
When he reached the grand old age of 88, Jack and his wife died in a car accident. He and his wife of the last 60 years were in excellent health, due to her obsession with healthy eating and exercising.
When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion that had been fitted with a state-of-the-art kitchen, marble bath suite complete with Jacuzzi and power shower, pool and landscaped garden bordering the golf course.
As they "oohed and aahed" the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost.
"It's free, " Peter replied, "this is Heaven."
Next they went out back to survey the championship golf course. They would have golfing privileges everyday and each week the course changed to a new one representing the great golf courses on earth.
Jack asked, "And what are the green fees?"
Peter's replied, "This is heaven, it's free."
Next they went to the club house and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out.
"How much does a standard meal cost here?" asked Jack.
"Don't you understand yet? This is heaven, it is free!" Peter replied with some exasperation.
"Well, where are the low fat and low cholesterol buffet?" the old man asked timidly.
Peter lectured, "That's the best part...you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like and you never get fat and you never get sick. This is Heaven."
With that the old man lost his temper, threw down his hat and stomped on it, shrieking wildly.
Peter and his wife both tried to calm him down, asking him what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife and said, "This is entirely your fault! If it weren't for your obsession with healthy living, I could have been here ten years ago!"
I found this great ebook for my ebook website: Browse eBooks Bookshop. And not a moment too soon. It's called "15 ways to lose weight on Holiday". Lose Weight? I'll be over the moon if I can just manage not to put any back on! Worth investigating though. I'll let you know.

Christmas is nearly here! I love everything about it. The mulled wine, the carols, the dinner parties...even the cold. Losing weight is not very high on my agenda, although I am making progress. Have lost one kilo since I started. I am trying to be realistic: I make small reasonable changes.
Even the smallest change that one makes will be the first step in the right direction.
If nothing else, I have decided to drink enough water today to remain hydrated through out the festive season. This is the first step towards improving my health and reducing my weight to a more acceptable level.
Or one can decide to do something effortless like researching a promising weight loss method that one is interested in. Maybe you have been wondering how effective self-hypnosis for weight loss is. Now is the moment to investigate. Grab a cup of something hot, put your feet up in front of the fireplace and invest in your future by finding out more about this powerful weight loss method.
This time of the year can be more stressful that peaceful in several households. You can even try out self-hypnosis as a way to help you stay calm, focussed and content.
The sooner you start on the path to reaching your weight loss goals, the sooner you can enjoy all the benefits of better health and well-being from the reduction in body fat that you will be able to achieve.

We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing. Action always generates inspiration. Inspiration seldom generates action. ~Frank Tibolt
Starting an exercise program in bleak midwinter is a pretty dismal idea, but as it is Christmas time and 2008 is looming just around the corner, I bet many people are considering doing just that. We are all reviewing 2007 and resolving to be fitter and healthier and thinner in 2008.
It is very important to understand is that you don't have to immediately start going out for long-distance runs. In fact to do so if you are quite overweight could be detrimental to your health. In the beginning of an exercise program it is better to start by going out for short, slow walks. Don't be concerned if initially they are short walks and slow ones at that; the idea is to build your fitness level gradually to avoid injury.
Starting a new exercise program is the most difficult part. Once you take the first steps towards your exercise and weight loss goals it will become easier and easier as you go along.
Even if you don't like exercise you need to be aware of the fact that exercise is one of the fastest ways for you to reduce weight and improve your health and speed up your metabolism. The more exercise you do, the more energetic, supple and motivated you will become and this in turn makes it a lot easier and enjoyable for you to achieve your daily activities.
Exercise is also beneficial to your mental health. It stimulates the production of endorphins that make you feel good about yourself. Even if we are currently in the darkest of winter-time, starting an exercise program as part of your New Year resolutions is no bad idea at all. Come spring-time you'll be fit as a fiddle and radiantly healthy and will fit into your summer clothes effortlessly.
To motivate yourself to get going and keep going once you have started, I would recommend self-hypnosis and visualisation. You can suggest to yourself while under hypnosis that you love exercising and are very good at it, and use visualisation to see yourself slim, fit and healthy, walking on a beach in your bathing suit, getting many admiring glances…

What is the secret of permanent weight loss?
The answer to this question is simple: it's all about motivation. At the beginning of a diet, every one is highly motivated. But as time goes on and boredom and a feeling of deprivation set in, people lose their motivation. Or they get stuck on a plateau. Nothing like a plateau (when you stop losing weight despite adhering to your diet) to destroy motivation. Or something goes wrong in life in general. When stress levels go up, motivation to diet can plummet.
So how do some people manage to lose weight and keep it off? They have discovered a secret about motivation not generally known:
Motivation is like food for the brain. You cannot get enough in one sitting. It needs continual and regular top ups. Peter Davies
To stay motivated to lose weight and keep it off, one has to top up one's motivation stores, for ever. And how does one do that? You have to commit to a daily 5 minute motivation top-up and making it part of your daily routine for ever. Then choose a system that works for you:
1. subscribe to a motivational e-zine like my Gorgeous Gourmet Newsletter at www.hypnosis-for-diets.com
2. read motivational quotes/ poems or inspiring weight loss success stories,
3. join a supportive online weight loss forum,
4. look at your before photo and visualise your desired figure,
5. use self-hypnosis to solidify your commitment
6. Write and review your weight loss journal
7. Set small along-the-way-to-success goals. Celebrate the achievement of your goals, however small
Setting and achieving goals is imperative for weight loss success and staying motivated. That is why you keep a weight loss diary. To note your progress towards your goals. Remembering how far you have come is extremely motivating.

Couple of weeks ago I saw a great film called Ratatouille. It's animated, and tells the story of a little country rat that goes to Paris to realise his (however unlikely) dream of becoming a great chef. Initially, it was just seriously good entertainment, a feel good movie…but the thing is, it stuck with me and I keep discovering new layers of meaning bellow the humble surface.
One of the treads is about a very nasty food critic that changes his ways (Scrooge-like) after tasting Remi's ratatouille. It reminded him of his mother's kitchen, her cooking and her love…
Food has a very powerful influence on our emotions- it can make us feel much better, purely by evoking happy memories of our childhoods. I guess that's why people comfort eat. It is a coping strategy. Expecting yourself to give up this very powerful strategy without putting something else in its place will probably not be very effective, especially in the long run.
If you want to stop comfort eating, find a different way to cope with stress. Your sense of smell is as effective at bringing back feel-good memories as your sense of taste. That is why these "home-perfume" candles that smell of coffee or chocolate or Christmas are selling like sweet cakes.
Your sense of smell and taste bypasses your conscious, logical mind to influence your emotions in a powerful irresistible way. So use it to your advantage. If the smell of Christmas spices make you feel good, burn these candles all year round. Light one when you feel low. Use different scents for different emotions. Bake bread; make coffee…for the sake of the aroma only! Shop owners and real estate agents are already using this technique to manipulate us to buy more, now use it consciously to change the way you feel.
And when you feel an irresistible urge to over-eat come over you, a very awful smell can put you off very effectively…try it; you will be surprised at its effectiveness.

I am still in shock! Need to lose 10kgs! That is about 22 pounds! Couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scales...how did that happen? Insidiously, I can assure you.
It is not as simple as saying that overweight people just eat too much because there can be any number of psychological reasons that make people want to eat more.
Emotional triggers such as stress, sadness, depression and so on can all make a person want to eat more food. This is due to the fact that there are certain chemicals in the brain that are linked to both mood and hunger.
Many people associate eating with various different emotions and for this reason they choose to eat more food to make themselves feel better, or happier, or more comforted.
If you feel that this is the reason for your weight problem then it is probably better to get those issues resolved first by seeing a specialist rather than trying to attack the food problem first.
For a lot of people it is habit to over eat and behavioral modification will be the key to weight loss success in these cases.
One of the easiest ways to change your eating behaviour is self-hypnosis.
The good news is, I am well on the way. Started running again yesterday (after a very LAZY period of about three months)so I am starting slow: 5 min slow walk, 5 min slow jog, 5 min slow walk.
I am keeping careful note of everything that I eat and I have taped a powerful, tailor-made Weight Loss hypnosis cd to listen to twice a day.(one of the Papillon Program scripts- see http:// www.hypnosis-for-diets.com/easy-weight-loss-diet.html
I also did a chocolate aversion MP3. I find these specialised hypnotic scripts, although strictly disgusting, nearly 100% effective.
To further inspire me I am rereading a copy of "Lose 10 pounds in 30 days" available from the Browse eBooks Bookshop http://www.browse-ebooks.com. and The Mediterranean Diet by Roy Barker. To find out more Click Here!Margarethe

With this, that and the other (getting divorced, moving to a new country,
changing jobs, selling my farm, starting a new relationship)
I have managed to put on quite a bit of weight.
So I guess it is going to be a question of "physician, heal thyself". I had better start putting all the wisdom I had been preaching to my patients and patient web-readers into practice. Today is Sunday, so one more day of grace. I'll start my diet tomorrow. I'll weigh myself for the first time in several months and probably have a jiggy fit on the spot. What fun. But I can't stand the extra layers anymore, so I have decided I have to do something...even if it IS only three days before my birthday and nine days to Christmas...
Today I'll start a journal. Keeping a weight loss and diet journal can help reveal unhelpful eating patterns, re-instate and maintain healthy habits and show progress you might not see at first glance.
This is what you should write in a weight loss journal:
- everything you eat during every day, every single morsel, no matter how small
- write down all the exercise you get, type, duration, conditions etc
- journal how you felt that day, energetic, motivated, tired, sluggish or fatigued
- write a positive thing about each day, add an affirmation of your goals
- don’t weight yourself daily - once or twice a week is enough, maybe give it a special page in your journal
- don’t just go by the scale, measure yourself too, we often lose inches before we lose pounds
- write short and long term goals, including maintenance goals
- don’t cheat yourself, not writing something down doesn’t make that day better even on paper
Since it's time for New Year Resolutions, I think I'll review my personal mission statement. So much has changed! It wrote a personal mission statement 4 day e-course for my website, called Your Passion, Your Mission, Your Life's Purpose, if you want to have a go too. It's quite empowering, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Get it from www.hypnosis-for-diets.com.
Talking about the festive season, you can now pick up 5 Christmas e-books (as well as the "Everything you ever wanted to know about Hypnosis" e-book) FREE when you subscribe to my newsletter, the Gorgeous Gourmet. I write it for people who love food, but don't want to sacrifice their looks or health for the sake of it.Margarethe

I am having tremendous fun with my new Bookshop. I added, I think, about 20 new titles with MRR last night, nearly all of them about weight loss. Have a look at www.browse-ebooks.com. Working at home may sound like bliss, but actually it can be rather disturbing...one either ends up working all hours or not at all.
Setting a routine and then getting into it works worders. It is the same with dieting. By getting into a regular pattern it makes the task of losing weight considerably easier.
If you know that you are going to exercise at the same time every day then your body will soon become adjusted to the fact that it will be exercising and this not only makes the exercise easier but it also ensures that you will stick to the plan and reach your goals a lot sooner than you would if you weren't consistent in your actions.
By keeping a record of your fitness training, you will be able to improve your performance in small steps that will result in big gains over the course of your program.
A regular checkup with your doctor is always recommended to ensure that all aspects of your health are improving and any concerns that you might have can be answered before they have the chance to escalate.
You might occasionally have a break from your weight loss program and this is not unexpected. It can actually do you a lot of good to have the occasional break from routine, provided of course that you get back to the program in a reasonable time and don't slip back to your old habits.
Adding variety to your food and your exercise routine will ensure that you don't get bored as this is one of the main reasons that many people struggle to maintain their plan and achieve their goals.
I am a creature of habit, I can't help it. I love routine.Margarethe

I can't beleive how complicated it turned out to be to produce one simple, locked pdf. I had finally finished the new 2008 Papillon Program and wanted to
1. Turn it into a pdf
2. Lock it
3. Brand it
4. Upload it to my bookshop at www.browse-ebooks.com
It took me four days! Usually it takes 30 minutes maximum! I am not extremely computer literate, but I am not ignorant either. This experience sent me right back to internet kindergarten though. Won't bore you with the gory details.
Anyway, it's done. The masterpiece has seen the light, after passing through not less than 5 diffrent pdf-creator-birth-canals.
Setting up a Squidoo lens was much more enjoyable and satisfying, I can see why people think it is addictive. My lens is about weight loss e-books. I have forgotten the exact address- I'll tell you later.
I am making a list of healthy weight loss tips:
Healthy Eating Tips
1. Try soy, rice or other organic milks instead of cow’s milk
2. Eat whole grains instead of white breads and pasta
3. Try chicken, turkey and fish in place of the usual red meat at dinnertime
4. Avoid frying foods (try grilling instead!)
5. Keep an eye on portion sizes (approx 4 ounces is a good average size portion of meat or approximately the size of the palm of your hand)
6. Avoid excess sugars (sugar hides in unexpected places like condiments)-read food labels!
7. Drink plenty of fluids such as water and natural herb and fruit teas
8. Use natural herbs to increase flavor of foods instead of just adding salt, or use a salt/herb mixture to flavour food.
9. Don't eat in front of the computer. Eat in front of the TV. (just checking if you are still awake)
10. If you do succumb, don't get crumbs in the keyboard.
11. Never trust a pdf-creator. Frustration makes you comfort eat.Margarethe

Another day, another diet, another guru, weight loss pill, miraculous form of exercise...it's really all very confusing. It seems that almost every other day a new diet gets promoted as that magical breakthrough that guarantees instant weight loss overnight.
The diet industry is enormous; billions of dollars are spent and made every year. Anything that even remotely target a piece of the weight loss market can bring considerable wealth to those who are determined to cash in on it.
There are so many different diets and weight-loss programs on the market that it is extremely difficult for somebody who has no knowledge of good nutrition to know where to turn to when they want to lose weight.
If it sounds too good to be true, it generally is. I guess you have figured out by now that it is not possible to go from being unfit and obese one week to being svelte and in shape a few days to a month later. Sadly, it took most people years to get to the stage where they are at the moment and to reverse the process overnight is just not possible.
I was creating a new lens on Squidoo just now, about weight loss ebooks, when I remembered how important wrting a personal mission statement had been to me, when I had to choose a weight loss program for myself. It was essential.
It will help you decide exactly what it is that you want to achieve, and with that I don't only mean losing "X" amount of calories. Prioritize. It will help you decide what is most important to you in your life. Determine your true values and beliefs. So write a personal mission statement. It will be invaluable for keeping you motivated to stick to your weight loss program in the long run.
I truly believe in the power of a personal mission statement. You can subscribe to a 4 day personal mission writing course at www.hypnosis-for-diets.com called Your Passion, Your Mission, Your Life's Purpose. FREE.
So step one in your quest to find the right diet FOR YOU is to write a personal mission statement. Find out who you are...right now. Has your objectives changed? You can't choose a weight management program that will work long term if you do not know exactly who you are, what you want and where you are going. And that's that.
And if you need more inspiration, read some of Anthony robbins' stuff. I love that guy.

My favourite Neuro-Linguistic-Principle is that when you try to do something in a certain way, if you don't get the results you hoped for, then you should try doing it in a different way. Makes so much sense, doesn't it? So why do we keep on dieting? It's like a bad habit we cannot get rid of. You would have heard this many times before: Diets don't work. Nothing that involves starvation and deprivation can have a positive effect in the long run.
Many people will start on a diet, but the percentage that will succeed will be small(less than 10%) compared to those who fail. That is just so depressing.
So why do some many people when face with failure blame it on themselves and try again... or change to another diet in the vain hope that this diet will finally work
So what's the solution? Try something else, of course! Something different, something you have never tried before. Try self-hypnosis. Change your eating patterns, bad habits, false food and eating beliefs...before you start another diet doomed to failure.
The New Papillon Program (2008) version will hit my bookstore http://www.browse-ebooks.com before the end of the week.
