2008-08-06T06:25:00.001+02:00Today I will try to do a test about which web browser is fastest on internet. I will compare results for main 4 web browsers including Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari. On this test I have used latest browser releases downloaded "freshly" from internet.
Tested on Following System:
- System: Windows Vista (SP1) - Latest updates installed
- CPU: Core2Duo 2x 2.4 Ghz
- Memory: 2GB 800Mhz DDR2
- Internet Connection: Broadband
How Did I Test ?
Firstly, I have downloaded all newest browser versions on internet: Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1; Internet Explorer 7 (with latest updates); Opera 9.5 and Apple Safari 3.1.2. All browsers are installed on Windows Vista and all installations went perfectly and quick in all cases.
Note: I have done each test 3 times and take average values for each browser!Firstly, I have tested JavaScript speed with special online tools. First one with simple JS and second one with advanced JS (multiple) test. Fastest browser on this test was Opera and worst is Internet Explorer with really bad results compared to all browsers on test.
Second Test is very important. I have test live website speed. Sites that I have choose are Bash Bosh and JohnChow. We see here that best average speed was on Mozilla Firefox and worst again on Internet Explorer.
On third test I gave tested image speed on each browser. I have used same pictures - one high quality and one low quality image on each browser. Best result for this test goes again for Mozilla Firefox, but in this case worst result is on Safari browser.
Conclusion
As we can see, fastest browser on this test was Mozilla Firefox. Slowest browser available now is Internet Explorer. It's interesting that Opera have really nice results and it's fastest in JavaScript load. We can also see that Safari is fastest than Opera in speed and Firefox with JS test, but pictures load too slowly - specially HQ.
So, winner of this test is Mozilla Firefox version 3.0.1. It's the fastest browsing speed web browser available on internet. My absolute recommendation!
