The History Channel had a nice 2 hour documentary surrounding the July 20th plot against Hitler. The documentary described the plot and did a very good job of the legacy of the plot in German society post-war.
Highly recommended viewing ahead of the film.

The Counterfeiters is available on DVD (and Blu-ray as well). In watching this movie, I can see why it was so highly regarded.
Based on the true story of a Nazi plot to disrupt Allied economies by counterfeiting currency by using Jewish prisoners in the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp.

“A Woman in Berlin”, based on the story of one of many German women raped at the end of World War II opened in Germany October 23rd. This is a rare German film that presents Germans as victims in any way shape or form.

I watched ‘Letter From Iwo Jima” recently, both the movie and the vast majority of the extras. I found it an interesting movie, that pretty realistically displayed the hopelessness of the battle and the fanaticism in which the Japanese fought.
